The Rebuilders Divorce Recovery Program

Find your footing again. Move forward with confidence.

Find your footing again. Move forward with confidence.

Find your footing again. Move forward with confidence.

Whether you're going through a breakup, separation or divorce, or asking yourself "Should I stay or should I go?" or wondering why you keep ending up in the same painful relationship patterns, you don't have to do this alone.

Sometimes the relationship ends, but we still feel stuck long after. Rebuilders is designed to help you make sense of what happened, process the grief, learn from the experience, and begin moving forward in a healthy way.

One of the most powerful parts of the workshop is the community. Healing happens in connection. As you walk alongside others who truly understand what you're going through, you'll find support, encouragement, and meaningful relationships that last well beyond the group itself.

You don't have to stay stuck. No matter where you are in the process, there is hope, and there is support.

If you're here,
you may be asking yourself...

Why does this hurt so much?

How can I get past the anger and grief?

Why did this happen?

Will I ever feel like myself again?

How do I move forward when I didn't want this relationship to end?

Can I learn to trust myself and others again?

Am I going to keep repeating the same patterns?

What if I end up alone?

Through the support of the group and the Rebuilders process, you will

  • Feel less alone

  • Make sense of what happened

  • Move through grief rather than staying stuck in it

What to expect

The Rebuilders Divorce Recovery Workshop is one of the most effective and well-respected programs available for people navigating separation, divorce, and relationship loss. Most participants come through referrals from former graduates, therapists, and friends who have experienced the program firsthand.

Research shows that Rebuilders significantly shortens the recovery process by providing the tools, support, and guidance needed to heal, grow, and move forward with greater confidence. Participants complete a divorce recovery self-assessment before the first and final workshop sessions. On average, participants show a 25–50% improvement in their recovery scores from the beginning to the end of the program.

You'll experience a confidential, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can focus on your own healing. This is not a dating group. The focus is on healing, growth, and recovery. One of the workshop's most powerful aspects is the community. As you connect with others who understand what you're going through, you'll build meaningful relationships and a sense of connection that continues long after the workshop ends. Participants agree not to date during the workshop so everyone can focus on their own healing. After graduation, however, those restrictions no longer apply.

Participants receive the Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends book and workbook, which provide practical tools, exercises, and guidance to support the healing process both during and between sessions.

The workshop is facilitated by Susan Lester, LCSW, LCAS, with support from Rebuilders graduates who volunteer their time to encourage participants, share their experiences, and help foster connection within the group.

What we'll cover

The Rebuilders Divorce Recovery Workshop is a 24-hour, 12-week program designed to help you heal from relationship loss and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-awareness.

Using the proven Rebuilders curriculum, we'll explore the areas of your life most impacted by separation, divorce, or the end of a significant relationship. Topics include grief, anger, self-worth, relationship patterns, trust, forgiveness, and creating a healthier future.

As the weeks progress, you'll gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, learn practical tools for healing, and identify patterns that no longer serve you.

You'll also do this work alongside others who understand what you're going through. Participants leave not only with new insights and skills, but also with meaningful connections and a supportive community.

Facilitated social activities

One of the hardest parts of separation and divorce is the isolation. Friends and family often care deeply, but may not fully understand what you're going through or how to help. As a result, many people feel disconnected at a time when they need support the most.

That's why we offer a variety of optional social activities throughout the workshop. These gatherings provide an opportunity to connect with others, build friendships, and rediscover what it feels like to enjoy life again.

Activities may include dinners, concerts, hikes, festivals, coffee meetups, outdoor events, and other fun happenings around Raleigh and the surrounding areas. Whether you attend one event or many, these experiences can help you build meaningful connections and create a sense of community beyond the classroom.

We'll support you every step of the way.

Investment in your healing

If you're going through a separation, divorce, or significant relationship loss, you already know that the emotional cost is high. Investing in your healing now can save you years of feeling stuck, repeating old patterns, or trying to navigate this process alone.

What would it mean to have a clearer understanding of what happened? To feel less alone? To have support from people who truly understand what you're going through? To move forward with greater confidence and create healthier relationships in the future?

When you register for Rebuilders, you're making an investment in yourself, your future, and the people you love. The program includes 24 hours of group instruction and discussion, a supportive community of peers, and access to optional social activities designed to help you build connection and rediscover life beyond the loss.

DROP-IN CLASSES

Not sure if Rebuilders is right for you?

We invite you to attend one of our monthly drop-in classes for just $30. It's a great opportunity to experience the group, meet former and current participants, learn more about the program, and begin building community with others who understand what you're going through.

If you decide to join a Rebuilders cohort, you can register and attend up to three sessions before making a final commitment. If, after three classes, you decide the program isn't the right fit for you, there is no obligation to continue. Your only cost is the non-refundable registration fee.

Our goal is for you to feel confident that Rebuilders is a good fit before making a larger investment in the full program.
